☼ La Vega Real

This wonderful tour is specially designed for people who love the nature and places with impressive landscapes surrounded by mountains and rivers, Christopher Columbus was in these places, especially in La Vega Real and Santo Cerro, Colon express in one of his poems That “ This were the most beautiful lands that eyes ever seen before” for its stunning mountains and its scenery of wildflowers, in this place was stablished the first city of the new world which was destroyed by a powerful earthquake in 1562. we will visit its ruins and museums, here you can be witness of their cultures and life style then we arrive at Santo Cerro a small village in a mountain where Christopher Columbus installed the first Cross and where first battle between Indians and Spaniards staged giving rise to the appearance of the virgin of Mercedes, according to legend in the year 1494.. in this picturesque place we visite the church built in honor of the virgin of Las Mercedes with bricks of La Vega Vieja in 1880. We continue our journey by the Cibao valley and the modern city of La Vega Real, visit some colonial houses and the cathedral Concepción de La Vega.

Finally we will tour the Artisan Route, places where farmers and artisans works in their small factory, here they have a vast array of handmade figure and home decorations made of clay and wood, then we come back to your hotels at 5:00 P.M.
